Mariana Mazzucato, author of the widely acclaimed Mission Economy: A Moonshot Guide to Changing Capitalism, is Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value at University College London (UCL) and the founding director of the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose.
Known globally for her pioneering research, Professor Mazzucato’s work challenges traditional views on the roles of government and the private sector, demonstrating how mission-oriented collaboration can drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth. She advises policymakers around the world on innovation-led inclusive and sustainable growth, including roles as Chair of the World Health Organization’s Council on the Economics of Health for All, Co-Chair of the Global Commission on the Economics of Water and the Co-Chair of the Group of Experts to the G20 Task Force for the Global Mobilization against Climate Change.
